Coordinator, Global Sustainability Resource Center
Dr. Adonia E. Lugo co-manages programs at the Global Sustainability Resource Center (GSRC). Adonia brings a focus on racial inclusion in social movements to the GSRC, where she supports students and makes more connections between community-based environmental justice and campus sustainability efforts. This work started when she was a graduate student in anthropology at UCI and undertook community-based research on bicycling in Los Angeles. Since receiving her PhD in 2013, Adonia has organized people of color active transportation advocates and professionals around the country. She worked in Washington, D.C. before returning to live at the Los Angeles Ecovillage in 2015. In addition to her role with the GSRC, Adonia serves on the advisory boards for Multicultural Communities for Mobility and Orange County Environmental Justice and teaches graduate-level sustainability courses at universities around southern California.
