UC Irvine has raised the stakes in the Cool Campus Challenge — there is now a $450 prize for the campus club or organization with the most points and a $50 prize for an individual with the most points.

Here are the details:

$450 Group Prize

1. Make sure your student group is registered as a ‘team’ with the Cool Campus Challenge.
2. Recruit your group members and non-members to sign-up as part of your team and encourage them to earn points.
3. The group with the most points at the end of the competition (December 10) will win a $450 Visa Gift Card. It is recommended that the prize money goes towards a sustainability-related event or opportunity. Winners will be announced by Monday, December 14.
 

Students who earn 10,000 points or more by December 10 achieving 'Guru' status, will be entered into a drawing for a $50 Visa Gift Card.

$50 Individual Prize

1. Register for the Cool Campus Challenge and start earning points by taking actions to reduce your carbon footprint.
2. Earn 10,000 and achieve’ Guru’ status by December 10.
3. All students on the UC Irvine campus who achieve ‘Guru’ status by December 10 will be entered into a drawing for a $50 Visa gift card. Winners will be announced by Monday, December 14.
