
April 22, 2022, marks the 52nd anniversary of the birth of the modern environmental movement in the United States in 1970, building upon centuries of environmental protection led by indigenous communities around the globe. Many of us are learning, organizing, and volunteering to honor Earth Day, Week, and Month.

The Chair of the UCI Academic Senate convened a new task force to make recommendations on how UCI should move forward on issues related to climate change. The taskforce is hosting the “Reimagining UCI in a climate-changed world” Conference on April 18, 2022 at the Student Center, which is open to UCI faculty, staff, and students. Learn more here.

Native plant planting day at the Arboretum/Marsh with UCI Nature

Meets at lot 7 in front of the UCI greenhouse. UCI Nature teams will be planting native shrubs and grasses into a seed farm so we can use them for future restoration efforts. Please wear sturdy shoes, sun protective clothing, and water or a snack. We will supply gloves and tools and plants.
