Environmental Justice Collective

The Environmental Justice Collective (EJC) is a student-led group that works to reflect on and respond to the intersecting crises of environmental, racial, and social justice, and gain familiarity with the knowledge and skills to support our commitment to communities and social justice. The EJC is supported through the UCI Sustainability Resource Center.

EJC is always welcoming new members. Please fill out the submission form below and the EJC coordinator will contact you. For more information, check out the resources below.

The Environmental Justice Collective has its roots in the Community Resilience Co-Lab. The Co-lab aimed to build a stronger campus community response to the enduring and intersecting crises of environmental, racial, and social injustice. The Co-lab compiled many resources from undergraduate students, graduate students, faculty, staff, and community members.

A rotating planning team comprised of student leaders convened the 2019 Co-lab, and in 2020, student leadership at the Sustainability Resource Center continued the co-lab’s efforts through the EJC. Since 2020, student coordinators have led campus wide efforts to build collective knowledge and advocate for environmental justice.
