Access to clean water is increasingly becoming one of the key challenges to humans and wildlife worldwide as population pressure, degrading water quality, declining snow pack, and industrial and agricultural discharges contribute to this growing crisis. The symposium will explore the potential role of desalination as a viable source of clean water in our region, as well as developments in desalination technology in other arid regions of the world.
