Help homeschool families and OC Parks remove the non-native edible weeds at Santiago Oaks Regional Park,
so the ranger does not use toxic herbicides.

Bring gloves, hand trowels, hoes, pruners and any other gardening tools to assist in plant removal; also bring reusable bags to carry out edible plants.  Scissors and tongs can be used for stinging nettle.  This event is open to all ages.  Please come prepared for outdoor manual labor, including squatting, pulling, lifting, etc., and wear appropriate gardening attire and sun protection, and $3 cash for parking.

*In celebration of our hard work, participants will prepare a giant salad for everyone to enjoy during lunch.

Difficulty: Easy to moderate.  1 mile round-trip.  Minimal elevation gain.  Uneven terrain.  Mix of sun and shade. Poison oak.600_448058274
