The Global Food Summit: Towards Regional Resilience addresses local and regional food security resilience. UC system faculty and affiliates will come together with innovative community leaders in Orange County to shed light on food sustainability’s most pressing issues.
This conference is hosted as part of the Toward a Sustainable 21st Century series. The series was born out of an initiative from a foundation that recognized university research is stronger when given global-scale tools.

Significant problems of global sustainability remain. Such areas include marine resources conservation, threats to ecosystem and environmental health caused by toxic chemicals, and the absence of effective governance structures which promote sustainability. Summits such as this are key steps towards building a culture that demands innovation and sustainable progress.

Keynote Address will be given by Yong Chen, UC Irvine, Professor and author of Chop Suey, USA.
