State funding has been key for advancing sustainability and climate mitigation efforts in California, but is the distribution of that funding equitable and just? Come learn with UCI researchers about Greenhouse Gas Reduction Funds spending in and around Orange County. California’s Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund (GGRF) earmarks 10% of state cap-and-trade monies to be spent within EJ communities, with 25% benefiting them. How does this funding get down to the local level, and who is it really serving? How can we shift this?
