The Outdoor Nation Campus Challenge is a Mother-Nature-meets-March-Madness competition with 100 schools from across the country going head-to-head for four weeks to see who can get the most people outside and active. UCI participated last year for the first time and finished at a respectable 25th place.
The 2017 Campus Challenge kicks off September 18 and ends October 15. The school with the most logged outdoor activities on the Campus Challenge app wins the title of National Outdoor Champion. Students, faculty, staff, alumni and any U.S. resident located around the world can download the app and choose to make their activities count for any of the participating schools.
Each week, one of the Outdoor Nation Campus sponsors will provide chances to earn points, prizes, and gear:
Week 1: REI
Week 2: The North Face
Week 3: ENO
Week 4: HydroFlask
