UCI Transportation removes abandoned bikes from the campus and after a 30-day holding period, these bikes are made available for sale at low cost to the campus and the community through the reCycle Fair.

When bike inventory permits, the reCycle Fair is held on the last Wednesday of the month, between 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., at the corner of Campus Drive and Jamboree Road. At this event, salvaged bicycles and parts can be purchased at a low cost. Most bikes require minimal repair such as new inner tubes, cleaning of rust, and tuning. Please see the homepage for the next sale.

Bikes and bike parts that are not purchased are donated to the Bicycle Donation Program. These bikes are cleaned up and donated to organizations such as Shelter for the Boys and Girls Club, CASA, the Homeless in Midway City, Olive Crest Homes, and Services for Abused Children in Santa Ana.

For more information on these programs, please contact the bicycle coordinator or call (949) 824-7433. The reCycle Fair times and dates are subject to change dependent on variables such as weather conditions, bike supply, and campus emergencies.

To report abandoned bikes or bikes that are no parked designated racks, please email biking@uci.edu and include a description of the bike, the location, and a photo.
