The third week of April is Earth Week (April 18 – 22), a time to bring awareness about sustainability. The UCI Sustainability Co-Curricular Working Group (SCWG), a diverse group of campus representatives that include students, staff and faculty, are coordinating plans for Earth Week.New! The Earth Week Planning Committee is meeting Wednesday, March 9 at 12:00 p.m. in Student Center G460. They will be getting together to collaborate on how Earth Week will be celebrated this year at UCI. Please contact Kimberly Duong <kimbed2@uci.edu> for more information.
SCWG has put together ideas for daily themes. Campus organizations are encouraged to cluster events according to themes.
We would like your feedback.
Are these themes relevant? Which days should each be assigned?
Themes include:
- climate/biodiversity,
- food/water,
- waste,
- transportation/energy,
- equity/social justice (may be distributed among first 4 themes, i.e. as “climate justice”, “food justice”, etc.).
