NSF Research Traineeship program makes 17 new awards that support preparation of future STEM workforce for interdisciplinary challenges

Congratulations to UC Irvine Center for Environmental Biology faculty member Steve Allison on the new award from the National Science Foundation: ‘A Training Incubator for Addressing Urban Environmental Change From Ridge to Reef (R2R).‘ We’re excited to see our students working throughout the region on important environmental challenges in partnership with community groups and stakeholders. Dr. Allison piloted the graduate student training program for two years as the Climate Action Training program, sponsored by the Faculty Climate Action Champion award of the UC Global Climate Leadership Council and the UC Irvine Sustainability Initiative.
