Exploring Electric School and Shuttle Buses: Is it time to convert your fleet to electric?
8:30 a.m. – 1:45 p.m.
University of California, Irvine
UCI Student Center ǀ Pacific Ballroom D
In November 2013, University of California President Janet Napolitano announced the Carbon Neutrality Initiative, which commits all of UC to emitting zero greenhouse gases from its buildings and vehicle fleet by 2025, something no other university system has done. As UC Irvine works toward attaining this goal, we invite you to join us for an exploration of low-carbon (and potentially zero emission) bus technologies and various incentives that might be available to your institutions should you wish to pursue this option for your own fleets.
We have invited transportation and procurement managers from the UC system and school districts throughout Orange County to UCI on Wednesday, June 22, for an examination of electric school bus technologies. Hear from the Clinton Global Initiative’s Electric Vehicle ǀ Vehicle-to-Grid School Bus Working Group, the California Air Resources Board, the South Coast Air Quality Management District, and CALSTART, along with several equipment manufacturers. Attendees will also have an opportunity to check out a number of electric buses onsite.
Following the public workshop, there will be a business lunch for invited UC affiliates.
There is no cost to register for this event. For additional details and to register, please click the ‘Register Now’ button below. We ask that you register no later than Friday, June 17. Please share this email with others who might be interested.
