About the Event
This workshop will illuminate the close connection between sustainability and food justice. Inspired by our campus’ rural roots, the event will trace The Farm’s history from the site’s use as farmworker housing through the experimental intercultural gathering place it became decades later. Chef Roger will show participants how to prepare meso-american cuisine from this period.
Dishes include:

  • Sikil Pak with Market Veggies
  • Papadzules
  • Pulusami
  • Pepian de Güisquil
  • Boox Ha

Multimedia Experience
Strategic Media Productions in the School of Biological Sciences will record the event and bring a multimedia approach to showcase key voices to show how food justice is a key facet of building a sustainable food system. This event is part of a larger multimedia project that will turn footage from the evening into a video highlighting sustainability and food action at UCI.
Logistics
