The 17th annual report highlights the achievements of the comprehensive sustainability program, which pledges to achieve climate neutrality for scope 1 and 2 sources by 2025. The University of California has reduced it’s emission footprint by 44% from the 2019 portfolio to 2020 portfolio, emitting 3.5 million fewer tons of carbon dioxide. The investment for renewable energy has also installed 1.7 gigawatts of wind, solar and battery energy around the world. The new report highlights climate protection, transportation, sustainable building operations, zero waste, procurement, food, water and health care facilities.
