Climate Change Conversations

Join the UC Bonnie Reiss Climate Action Fellows to talk about climate change impacts at UCI and efforts to address decarbonization, resilience, and other efforts. Participants will be provided with food and light refreshments.

Beach Clean Up with Surfrider North OC

The Surfrider Foundation of North Orange County is hosting a beach cleanup sponsored inside Bolsa Chica State Beach. Volunteers will spread out covering the beach, shoreline, parking lot to search for and collect trash that is left behind, washed ashore, or blown to its location.

Earth Day at the Bay

Join the Newport Bay Conservancy at the Upper Newport Bay for the return of the annual Earth Day Celebration! Join for a free family-friendly day full of hands-on arts and crafts, educational activities, and science discovery. Enjoy live music as you explore Adventure Partners’ booths, take a break for a tasty treat at one of the food trucks, and don’t forget to complete the scavenger hunt for prizes and giveaways!

Corona Del Mar Beach Clean Up with Wildlife Jewels

Wildlife Jewels is thrilled to be organizing an educational beach cleanup event in the charming coastal town of Corona del Mar in celebration of Earth Day 2024. This event is part of our Sweep for Wildlife program from our Oceans Conservation initiative aimed at cleaning the beach and educating volunteers about our native wildlife, the threats debris poses to their lives, and ways they can contribute to protecting them.

We are seeking volunteers to help us with outreach and planning for this special occasion! Whether you prefer remote tasks or participating in onsite clean-up activities, there’s a role for everyone to contribute.

Forging Our Own Path – The Importance of Black Leadership in Environmental and Climate Advocacy

Black people are disproportionately burdened by environmental hazards in their communities. However, studies continue to demonstrate that Black people are intentionally left out of environmental decision-making rooms, perpetuating increased systemic health issues for Black communities. This conversation will explore what it means to center impacted communities in environmental and climate-related decisions.
