The UC Irvine community is invited to register and attend the World Indigenous Law Conference. The Conference will be held at the Beckman Center in Irvine, California, from October 19-22, 2016. The Seventh Generation Fund for Indigenous Peoples is the lead convener and sponsor. The UCI Sustainability Initiative is pleased to support the conference as a co-sponsor and co-convener.

The World Indigenous Law Conference is held every two years and will be hosted in October 2016 in North America for the first time. This Conference is an international forum aimed at gathering Indigenous lawyers, practitioners, academics and those interested in furthering their understanding of issues facing Indigenous Peoples. Key elements of this conference include an international discourse on Indigenous Peoples’ Jurisprudence: examining legal frameworks and strategies for self-determined futures. This third such international law convening will focus on Indigenous Peoples’ legal issues, rights and strategies:
