A Conversation with Playwright Keiko Green
Keiko Green is an LA based playwright, TV writer, and performer. She received her MFA in playwriting from UCSD. Her play credits include Empty Ride, Exotic Deadly: Or the MSG Play, Hells Canyon, The Bed Trick, Sharon, Hometown Boy, Nadeshiko, and You Are Cordially Invited to the End of the World! She has won many awards, including Susan Blackburn Prize Finalist, Kilroys Web, San Diego Critics Circle Award (Outstanding New Play), and Gregory Award (Outstanding New Play). As a screenwriter, she wrote on Hulu’s Interior Chinatown and AppleTV’s upcoming Margo’s Got Money Troubles.
Keiko Green’s You Are Cordially Invited to the End of the World! premieres at South Coast Repertory (April 5 to May 3), as part of the Pacific Playwrights Festival. For this event, she will share with UCI students her challenges and triumphs as a writer and performer in an uncertain world, as well as her journey of writing You Are Cordially Invited to the End of the World!
