BEE / HOUSE / LAB was an international design competition at the University of Manitoba that resulted in innovative bee houses built, installed around campus and used for research. The reasons for the competition were to help bees in a time of rapid decline due to habitat loss and severe weather brought on by climate change. Partnerships were what made this project a success. In this webinar, you will learn more about the process of this project and see the winning designs. This project was the Winner of the 2016 AASHE Campus Sustainability Achievement Award).

Jason Hare, FABLab Manager, Faculty of Architecture, University of Manitoba
hare.jpg Jason Hare graduated with a Masters in Landscape Architecture in 2014 from the University of Manitoba. During his practicum he played a key role in establishing the digital fabrication lab (FABLab) in the Faculty of Architecture. With a deep curiosity towards methods of assembly and means of making, Jason now manages the FABLab and performs research relative the field of digital fabrication within the realm of Architecture and Design.
