Intermediate Mountain Bike Ride
Roll-out to the backcountry with other outdoor enthusiasts and Aliso and Wood Canyons Wilderness Park’s Resource Specialist. We’ll explore and learn about the canyons as recent rains are turning the park green and activating wildlife. Although this ride is for off-road bikers that are comfortable with single track trails, the pace will be dictated by the slowest riders. Pauses will be made whenever the group is interested in observation and wildlife interpretation.
The 7-mile route for this ride is on Aliso Creek Trail (mostly paved), to Wood Canyon Trail, to Coyote Run Trail (single track) within Aliso and Wood Canyons Wilderness Park. The single track is generally not technical but does include some short, steep descents and some sections that may be slightly loose with small rocks. The connections between the single track will be on ranch roads and pavement.
Electric Mountain Bikes of any class or type are not permitted.
Parking: $3/car at Aliso & Wood Canyons Visitor Center. Parking is limited, carpooling is encouraged.
Difficulty Rating: 3/5
Materials: Participants must arrive with a properly functioning mountain bike, helmet, and replacement equipment for flat tires. Bring all necessary equipment to keep you safe on the trail, including water, proper attire, closed-toe footwear, sunscreen, medication, and health needs, etc.
