The Santa Monica Bay Audubon Society will lead us on a bird walk at 8:30AM to check out our local feathered friends. After the tour, we’ll begin collecting our soil samples at 10AM as a group along the lagoon! Be sure to bring your phones and take photos of all the organisms you spot so you can upload them to iNaturalist.

Be sure to bring water, lunch, and a comfortable pair of shoes. Get excited!

Just off the city of Calabasas, Malibu Lagoon is where Malibu Creek meets the Pacific Ocean. Known for fishing, scenic wetlands, and flower gardens, this State Beach is great for admiring gray whales, monarchs, and grunion fish.
