“Amigos de Bolsa Chica is reviving its ‘Running Is For The Birds’ 5K/10K Run & Walk, a long-standing tradition from 1978 to 2006.

“In addition to being a timed run, we’re adding some new elements. We have incorporated a beach cleanup at Bolsa Chica State Beach and ‘plogging’ – picking up litter while jogging.

“This event is put on by an all-volunteer crew that shares the passion for saving our wetlands, cleaning the beaches, as well as learning about and protecting our coastline.
