Experience a hands-on cooking class for adults. Use fresh, organic, in season ingredients from our garden and enjoy a farm-to-table meal.
Our farm to fork adult cooking classes teach you how to prepare dishes using seasonal produce found at your local farmer’s market or grown in your own backyard.
We’ll begin with a sensory exploration of The Ecology Center’s orchard, veggie, and herb gardens, and end with the preparation and enjoyment of a meal together.
Join us for this hands-on cooking class to learn how to utilize the abundant and diverse harvest of summer and create delicious, fresh foods.
In this cooking class we will:
- Taste a range of heirloom summer vegetables
- Discuss ways to enjoy the harvest fresh, cooked, and preserved
- Learn how to save heirloom seeds
- Share a farm style meal together after class

During the summer, we can expect a hearty harvest of eggplant, peppers, tomatoes, cucumbers, corn, melons, squashes, zucchini and a myriad of leafy greens and herbs!
Instructor: Chef Kerri Cacciata
Instructor Bio: Chef Kerri was born and raised in Orange County. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in community organizing in San Francisco and studied culinary arts locally, finding harmony when the two subjects come together. She has worked in non-profit agencies, farmers markets, and in a number of professional kitchens. Kerri is a leader in the sustainable food movement in Orange County and currently leads The Ecology Center’s Community Table Accord and food programming.
