The event will be a mix of everyday tips on saving money and energy, plus panels and presentations for people who want to grow in their knowledge of climate and environmental risks, and perhaps get involved as advocates for prudent policy. It’s all free, and we hope that our mix of activities will have something for all ages. In addition to the discussions, there will be hands-on workshops, solar vendors, tabling by nonprofit organizations working on these issues, music, games, arts, and crafts — including a giant albatross made from cigarette butts collected on beaches. Our goal is to raise awareness, provide information, have fun, make friends and build relationships. Our schedule isn’t set yet, but here is some of the latest info. Electronic waste collection until noon. Composting workshops and vegan cooking demos. Republic Services will provide the latest news on recycling and why there are so many limitations on what gets recycled these days. (It’s all about preventing waste these days because recycling markets have crashed). Panels and presentations, including:

“Frugal, Green, & Happy: A Low-Cost, Low-Impact, Joyful Lifestyle in Suburbia”
