Waterkeeper

This is a special pre-screening of Waterkeeper, a powerful documentary film that follows the extraordinary life of Diane Wilson, a shrimp boat captain and environmental activist fighting to protect the waters of Texas’ Gulf Coast. Filmmaker Fax Bahr will join in person and Goldman Prize winner Diane Wilson will join us virtually!

From the filmmaker: The film captures her decades-long battle against corporate polluters, from her historic $50 million Clean Water Act victory over Formosa Plastics to her fight against Max Midstream’s reckless oil terminal expansion in the fragile Matagorda Bay. With gripping storytelling, Waterkeeper exposes the catastrophic impact of petrochemical giants on frontline communities while showcasing Wilson’s unwavering commitment to justice. A stirring portrait of courage and resistance, this film is a must-see for anyone who believes in the power of grassroots activism to defend our planet’s most precious resource—clean water.
