UCI is a premier research institution and provides many opportunities for students to engage in research during their studies. Sustainability is a top research priority at UCI with over 60 research centers dedicated to sustainability-related issues and heavy faculty-emphasis.

UC Irvine Green Labs Program

UC Irvine has hundreds of wet labs where our signature innovative research takes place. These labs are 10x as energy-intensive and 4x as water-intensive as office spaces. In order to align with the university’s strategic goals, the Green Labs program aims to support the lab communities to optimize safety and sustainability.
