Transportation
UC Irvine aims to reduce its impact on the environment by decreasing the total number of vehicle trips to, from, and on campus. Students, faculty, and staff are encouraged to walk, bike, or take advantage of the various alternatives offered by the Sustainable Transportation program including carpool, vanpool, and shuttle/bus programs. Sustainable Transportation provides incentives to individuals who walk, bike, or share a ride to campus. These measures, in conjunction with other transportation innovations, improve air quality and reduce vehicle congestion in and around the campus community.
