The research justice workshop series is comprised of 9 workshops led by the Research Justice Shop (RJS) co-directors and staff in the 2023-24 academic year. In each workshop, attendees will participate in experiential learning activities to gain exposure to and training in Community-based Research methods. Participants will also build community, develop research practice commitments, and experiment with meta-principles for Community-based Research and pedagogy.

2024 Winter Workshops: Doing Community-Based Research: Skills & Practices. Workshops will be offered both in person and remotely. Participation will require on-going interaction, including working in breakout groups. If you select remote participation, you will receive the Zoom link in your email prior to the workshops. The workshops will not be available to view asynchronously. Space is limited and priority to attend in person will be given to those who attended the workshops in the Fall.

Module 4: Creating Conditions for Research Justice: Establishing Agreements with Community Partner, January 24, 2024 in ISEB 1200 from 10am to 12pm (with provided lunch from 12-12:30pm)
Module 5: Co-constructing Research Questions at the Intersection of Community Knowledge & Expertise, February 14, 2024 in ISEB 1200 from 10am to 12pm (with provided lunch from 12-12:30pm)
Module 6: Documenting to produce shared knowledge in Community-based Research, March 6, 2024 in ISEB 1200 from 10am to 12pm (with provided lunch from 12-12:30pm)
Lunch will be provided after the workshop session from 12-12:30 for workshop participants who RSVP, allowing time for further discussion and community building.
